All my life I’ve held a pencil or pen in my hand (or more recently laid my fingertips to a keyboard) and had words flow through my brain and create something that wasn’t there before - something that didn’t exist in the world before that moment.
When growing up, I usually was either living in another world through the words of a writer, or creating stories of my own from tales of the mystery of a missing dolphin (with superb illustration, I may add) to historical fiction that was based on the very little history I knew.
As life continued, writing became a reed to hold onto as I struggled to stay by the shore and not drift away under the waves of my own perturbed mind. Then, when finding myself ashore, I found that building a connection through sharing my writing with someone else helped lead me to a place I could breathe deeply again, or maybe for the first time.
For a long time the stream of stories and words that flowed through my head went silent. With the publication of my first book, The Complete Works of a Lost Girl - an anthology of work written a decade ago - suddenly a storyline broke through my mind and the words raced after it with gusto.
So, I started this website as my little corner of the internet where I could share my words for those who happened to scroll, click, and pop in for a minute to see what this little corner is all about.
I’m not sure what I’m doing and don’t know if I ever truly will.
But, hey, isn’t life a little more fun that way.
